50 shades of red_2 and a Bookworm Tag

Hello

It's Thursday again - suddenly the week is going fast, but not so on Monday and Tuesday when it couldn't have gone much slower as we had workmen in fitting a new gas boiler and flushing radiators.
A fair bit of noise and upheaval indoors but at least that job is now done and now I think that a few days of some arty playing is due :)

but first.. a tag for the Bookworm theme at Tag Tuesday  chosen by the lovely Chrissie from Jumbled Crafts
I've made my tag flat so that I can use it as a bookmark - I have lots of arty books that have bits of scrap paper sticking out from them marking pages - so this will be useful.
I used a stamp set from The Works. Background coloured with Inktense pencils and Promarkers. Drew the worm on paper and cut him out, coloured with promarkers, pencils and Stabilo all pencils.

Lastly another page for  50 shades of red at AJJ hosted this month by the lovely  Linda K of heARTfully inspired

This is a mix of real art and digital.
Font Lexographer and few digital elements from Laitha's Designs 'Crafty Essentials'.

Over the New Year Dave and I played a silly but fun childhood game - not sure of the name - but you draw a head of some kind, fold it over so you can then only see a neck  - swap papers and draw a body to join the head - fold over and swap and then then do feet and legs which when you unfold the papers you get some really weird looking creatures. Well I found a way for me to do a few at a time - draw the heads and then go off and do something else and then come back and carry on etc until completed.

below is my original art work before the digital alterations using a mix of water colour paints, Stabilo all pencils and Aquamarkers.

Thanks for stopping by,
hope you're having a great day.
Gill x

  1. What a great post full of tun and happiness not to mention the eadiators but at least that is over now.

Your bookmark tag is fantastic and it is so good to have you join in with our new ventire at Tag Tuesday

The red age is wonderful with the great image. I remember playing that game and would love to play it again. I call it picyure consequences as it is like the other game from way back when that told a story.

Have a great rest of the day

    Love Chrissie xx

Its a wonderful page as well, red is a good happy colour. Loved the mermaid's fun head.
Yes I remember that game, it was always great fun.
Glad you got the boiler installed, it seems to take forever to get things back to normal after workmen have been in.

  10. Oh what a lovely funny post! The bookworm with his pair of glasses is so cute! He shows the happiness, that all your workmen had done their job and now the noise is away.
When in doubt ... wear red, how cool! Yes I know that game we played as children too. It is funny how your figures came out, super that you made a page with him/her! Great idea to play it alone too! Your page without digital playing is also beautiful!
    Liebe Grüße, Rike xx

  12. I spent the past two days out of town with my friend Kathy, so I've been MIA. I just got home and rushed over to see your latest artistic AJJ entry. Of course, I got an added bonus with the awesome bookworm tag.

I really enjoyed the humor of your AJJ entry. It sounds like a great idea, except of course, I don't look good in red (grin). I certainly enjoyed it, though.

  13. Nice tag Gill! Very cute bookworm. And I really like your styling mermaid. In fact, I like her unique sense of style and the fact that she is into designer fashion. You must have had a lot of fun with the game to be inspired to make such a playful page. It made me smile. Happy rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

  15. This is such an amusing happy blogpost.
Love the worm, I wish I had thought of that. Love his trendy specs.
Funny merman in red (I think he's a merman, if not apologies to the mermaid). I like his waiscoat and his attitude.
How nice that you and Dave played the pencil and paper game at Christmas. We call it head-body-legs but there is a proper name for it - the exquisite corpse - did you know that? I think I like head-body-legs better.
