Out and about star gazing

Hello

Firstly ..I want to say thank you for your kind and sweet comments on yesterdays post.... thank you x

Sadly it's the last day for AJJ 'Out and about' theme where Yvonne from Meggy's Way has been brilliant and so inspiring  posting everyday.
My page today is about when I was a child, and my dad and I would often go out in the garden and watch the stars for many hours. And in those days the light pollution wasn't as bad and we could see the stars much better.
We always had binoculars, a home-made telescope, torches and star maps and books with us.
One night we heard an odd whooshing noise and 7 lights flew over... for some reason we were so... not sure scared is the correct word ...maybe..amazed? confused? ... but we forgot to use our binoculars and didn't see what they were close up..... I know I've done a few posts about aliens..and I have an open mind  about life out there somewhere - was it a U.F.O experience? probably not -  I think they were more likely to have been migrating geese or swans flying over as I'm sure they were in a 'V' formation too....

Using part of my one of paintings from yesterdays post I altered it again and blended it into a dark piece of digital paper... the main stars I added but the fine background ones were snow from a digital kit.

thanks so much for stopping by
hope you have a great day
and a wonderful weekend.
Gill xx

  2. Fantastic art Gill, sounds like a lovely childhood you had. Wonder what it was that you saw? I've seen a shooting star before but sadly nothing more special than that!

  3. Terrific page yet again Gill. How different things are now when you can have an app on a phone that you point at the stars and it tells you exactly which one it is.

Enjoy all of your pages for the theme

    Love Chrissie xx

  5. I love this page and how its altered to show us a beautiful night sky.
Thank you for sharing your memories, always the best ones to have of times spent with our parents.
Maybe they were aliens, we will never know the answer to that question, but I do wonder if there were aliens, what would they be thinking seeing out efforts to explore space.
Thank you for all the super pages you added to my theme at AJJ.

  6. Your painting is so atmospheric. The trees and the houses look tremendous.
I like the idea of geese flying over with torches to light up the tricky bits.

  7. I love this, Gill!!
It's just wonderful! And as well I love what you tell about this picture.
Sitting outside with your father looking up to the stars. And this U.F.O. experiance which were flying goose are some other birds. (They don't fly always in a V-formation :)

  8. What a nice story about you as child watching stars with your Dad! Maybe you saw some ufos, who knows? It cannot be that we are the only ones in the universe, but we are - I heard this from a man speaking on the TV - the most silly ones.
Your snow and stars picture is wonderful!

What you created and the special back story behind it.
As far as aliens go...perhaps we are the aliens ;-) ;-) with other beings checking in on us ... There is indeed magic in the night and stars oxo
