Elegance and Grunge for AJJ

Hello everyone

I was so delighted and honoured to have been asked again to host this months challenge at AJJ (Art Journal Journey)
It wasn't too difficult to think of a theme this time as I love all sorts of art and styles - pretty designs or messy ink/painty/distressed effects... so the theme I have chosen for  AJJ  is 'Elegance and Grunge'

On a double page spread I created my grungy background using a small Gelli plate as a stamp with cheap craft paints and a few stencils. Then I drew my girl and flower and painted with a mix of Neocolor 2s, Inktense pencils and coloured pencils. The rubber stamps on the flowers are from 'The Works' and old ones from 'Docrafts - see D's' range.
To finish I added some more gesso and colour on the background to make the art pop out a bit more. The quote says ' She is messy and mad - but she has a heart of gold'.

... maybe you might only chose one of the words for your own creation...

I hope you enjoy this challenge and have lots of fun.
I shall look forward to visiting you.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by
 and for any comments.
Gill x
