Modern Elegance and some digital grunge

Hello

I'm having a break from gardening today and just as well as all of a sudden we've just had a summer storm with rain and thunder but looks like clearing - just as well as the neighbours over the back of us with a large plot of land have a marquee up, bouncy castle, trampolines and a football pitch too - looks like a fun day there.
And here I am going to try some new stash that arrived on Wednesday :)

Today for AJJ 'Elegance and Grunge'  I have two pieces one in a journal and the other digital.

I covered my page with torn up dictionary pages and then gessoed over top. Then I painted with various Paperartsy fresco paints and when dry stamped over page with Viva Decor stamps - except for the Lady in Hat which is by Hero Arts. Printed out quote and finally added more colour with various mediums.

The digital elements on my page are from the lovely Valerie and also me. Valerie kindly sent me a lovely grungy steampunk png  and I used that also to create the frame for the photo (one of my husbands ancestors). Below are 2 digital papers from one my kits which I used with some digital effects on plus I blended a photo of some beer froth on the page too.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Gill x

  1. Both pages are lovely, glad you could incorporate the steampunky piece from our tram stop! Love the idea of using beer foam, did you get to drink it, too? The party at your neighbour's sounds wonderful, good to stay indoor today. Here it's still very hot, they have predicted storms from tomorrow, we shall see! Have a nice weekend, hugs, Valerie

  2. Oh wow... both pages are wonderful - you are such an inspiration always! I hope your Saturday went well and you enjoyed it like I did - had two beers and some sparkling fruit wine after a fantastic birthday BBQ and have just to relax now!

I wish you a wonderful Sunday - hope the weather turns well again and you can continue your garden projects - I can imagine that you want to come to an end♥
Hope to see some photos of the work! You were really busy !

  3. Great pages Gill. I love how your describe modern elegance, because it is so different from times past. And Its true about how we have no choice of the time we get to live through but its such an adventure because of that. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and not working too hard in your garden. Hugs-Erika

  4. Both pieces are wonderful and you created fantastic background tiles as well. We never got the promised rain so it will be the hose pipe for me today as we just got back from holiday and everything needs a drink.

    Love Chrissie xx
