The sale which started yesterday and is for 5 days is to celebrate Thanksgiving today and Black Friday tomorrow.

Using the latest Algera Designs kit called 'Dreamscape'.....below are some digi pages I created.

International Digital Scrapbook Day

This Saturday 2nd November 2013 is I.D.S.D - International Digital Scrapbooking Day and to celebrate this  Algera Designs has a great sale on now until 5th November.
A digital page I created using one of the lovely kits from Algera Designs  called 'Halloween Treat'. For this layout design, I used the pieces in the kit that weren't for Halloween to show just how versatile this is and added the image of the woman.

Gothic Autumn

Hi everyone, following on from the other day here are a few more of my CT pages made for
Using the beautiful  new digi-kit called 'Gothic Autumn'.
I have added an image to each of the layouts, other than the second page as the girl is in the kit.
Also added some words or a quote. Most of my digi-scrap pages are made mainly using Serif Craft Artist software.
There was a lovely straw wreath in this kit, and I used some of the flowers, berries and leaves etc over the it to enhance it.

A bit of blending and effects within the software allowed me to change the colours to some lovely mauves/purples to fit with this great image of a Gothic building.

Lots of blending with the image and on the papers to get the background effect.

To finish this lay off I cheated a little and took it into Photoshop Elements to get the split pages effect. I must make a template to do that in my usual software as sure it would be dead easy to replicate and gives a nice effect.

thanks so much for stopping by x

Typography and more

Hi everyone well it's not quite as warm as yesterday but not too bad -  not the usual October weather though, I'm sure we have things blooming in the garden which don't normally at this time of year.
Today I have 2 layouts using a new technique I am learning about and below that some CT pages for Algera Designs
For several days I have been playing, learning a new digital technique creating a 'Typographic' effect on my images. It has been driving me mad trying to get the look I want.
I think there are a few variations on this but I quite like the look of an image all made from words.
Next I hope to try to get the same effect on some hands on crafting, maybe using rubber stamps and stencils.
But for now the 2 women below are digitally made and the image used from a Serif CD.

Below are four of my CT pages made for ALGERA DESIGNS using the latest 'Gothic Autumn' digi-kit. I added some images and words/quotes and some layouts have blending and effects done using my software.

Thanks for stopping by today x

POE-fect challenge

This is my entry for a fun challenge for September over at the fabulous House of Bears blog  based on quotes

So this is a digital page based on a quote by Edgar Allen Poe........ 'I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat'

I used tubes to make this but the background paper I made a few weeks ago. Although darkened this down to blend in with the rest of the elements I used, it was actually made up of photos of wood planks, screws and a metallic blobby pattern on an old t-shirt  - only the blobby bits down front are showing though....

WOYWW #223

Hi everyone and welcome…

It's Wednesday - yippeee!... which means we go blog hopping around the world to see what you have on your desk, all thanks to the lovely Julia at THE STAMPING GROUND.

To join in the WOYWW fun aka 'Whats on your work-desk Wednesday' check out the info over at Julia’s place.

I've not WOYWWed for a few weeks - spent a lot of time trying to get my head around my new laptop with Windows 8 and re-installing programmes etc - say no more about that !

This is my desk this morning
Two projects on the go - some painted cogs drying - punched out on red fun foam (instead of having to paint an undercoat red first) this is just the first bit - lots more of paint and ink to add still to get the metallic effect I want.
Aiming to recreate my digital avatar I made of the steampunk owl.
Secondly I made a sheet of music yesterday which still needs to be aged/distressed. But first I took a photo of it and made it into a quick digi-paper design just to show one of the things I am going to use it for.

Also this is the first opportunity to show my lovely ATCs and things from SaraJ over in Alaska - from the ATC 4th anniversary swap - I love them Sara thank you x

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your comments
have a lovely day x

Scrapping with a Gentle Touch

One of the things I love  most about digital art, whether it be for making cards or scrapping, is that it is so easy to change the colours and get more from a kit.
I had a great couple of days making some pages using the latest digi-kit from Algera Designs  called 'Gentle Touch'

Lots of playing with the papers and blending them together and adding different effects, and sometime changing colours as well.

Just add some photos/images and some words and voila!

For about the last 10 days or so I have been trying to get to grips with my new PC with Windows 8. And even though I can switch the screen to have a 'Classic' view - I am so fed up with various problems and frustrated at never being able to find answers - so this is a digital piece I made with free tubes from net I called 'Frustration'

I guess this will bit of a learning curve - things can only get better  - can't they  LOL

Have a great day - thanks for stopping by x

Challenge #35 Lets Ribble

Well it's actually nice and cool here for a change today.
Maybe I should have waited til today instead to have made this card - not my finest hour - as I have been finding it almost impossible to get up to my craft room in all the hot weather we've had lately.
This card is for a fabulous challenge over at Artful Times
to do a bit of ribbling.

I needed to make a Silver Wedding anniversary card and couldn't think of what to make (put it down to heat again LOL)  and thought of the white on White challenges a while back and voila!
Had a bit of problem getting photo - being white with a bit of silver - I think it looks a bit better in real life - honest it does... hopefully

Used a white A5 card and the first layer I stuck to it was using a large Martha Stewart punch down the side of a piece of A5 trimmed white card. Then added a little silver glitter glue.
Punched out various bits in white or silver card using various Marianne dies, small Martha Stewart butterfly punch.
For the bird on the branch I had a silver one and then punched one in white and cut out just the bird and stuck it on, then another silver one and cut out the wing to stick on.
The numbers I made on my computer and then printed and cut out.

Put the numbers and some parts of flowers through the ribbler.
Added more glitter glue to numbers.
Arranged he pieces and stuck it all down.

Another unusual adventure

Oh what a change today - it's been slightly cooler which is so much better, with just an odd bit of rain this morning which will hopefully do the veggies growing in the garden some good.

Here are some more of digi-layouts using 'An unusual adventure' by Algera Designs. What a great versatile kit.
As usual I made the pages using Craft Artist software.

plus right down at the bottom is a little tease of some faux metal effects I'm working on

I blended one of my own photos on the background of this
and then added grass at the front which is in the kit.

I have 3 pieces on the go at present trying different mediums/effects to get a sort of faux metal effect to use on my avatar project. The splodgy thing with the hole in it I thought looked a bit like a rivet. More on this another time.
Thanks for stopping by - have a great weekend x

An unusual adventure

I know I should be grateful, but this heat is really starting to get me down. I've still not managed to do any real crafting in my craft room as its so hot up there - other than a bit of playing with some faux metal effects, which I'm still working on and will blog about later.
I want to make a canvas based on my avatar design but don't fancy paying out for loads and loads of cogs and things to do it - but instead hope to make some faux ones myself.

Downstairs is much cooler and I have been making some digital layouts, playing with a great digi-kit by Algera Designs called ' An unusual adventure'.
This is great as it contains things for traditional scrapping and also altered art.

Here are a few of the pages I've made

Layouts were made using Craft Artist software and the 4th one had some effects done in PSE too.
Additional images of lady courtesy of 'The sum of all crafts' and one elephant on first page my own photo.

Hope you are all having a great summer - thanks for stopping by x

Tuesday, 23 July 2013

Well its been a couple of weeks since I last blogged; where does the time go?
It's been so hot too here on the east coast of UK, too hot for me up in my craft room.
But downstairs which is a bit cooler, I've been doing lots of digital pages.

This post shows some of the layouts I made with a beautiful new kit

 - 'Smitten' digi kit by Algera Designs

Just added some images, one of which was blended over the background.

Played around with blending papers to give a green theme.

Recoloured some things using my Craft Artist software - which always makes everything so different to the original colours in the kit. And the software being so easy to use has endless possibilities.
