'THE BRIDE' for AJJ and a tag for TT

Hello everyone

It's days like today when it is sweltering hot that I am glad I got married in December and lucky it was sunny and cool, but not too cold - I'm not sure I could look very elegant all dressed up when it's sooo hot :)
My lovely bride is for AJJ 'Elegance and Grunge' and an all digital page.
The Bride is clipart from a genealogy programme kit. I also used a digikit called

'Summertime kindness' by Laitha designs and other digital pieces from 'Timeless brushes and stamps vol 1' by Daisyrail.

I also have an all digital tag for Tag Tuesday 'anything goes' chosen by Valerie  and I used one of my own kits called 'Natasha'. The software I use has very clever digital punches built into it which I used on my 'digi-paper to punch out the tag. And this tag punch even has extra holes around it which looks pretty cool.

And talking of cool - I couldn't get cool yesterday despite fans on everywhere. I went upstairs to my arty/crafty space with the intention of a) trying out some new stash that arrived during week and b) making a real tag for Valeries challenge. The heat just made me feel queasy and bad and the tag I started does not good and is not finished.
I unwrapped my new Distress Oxides and looked at new masks and stamps and that was it - no playing with them yet :(
I think my PC feels the same too - it always gets really hot in this weather too and needs a break - so that's my lots for a few hours while we both try and cool down again.

Hope all well with you
and you're having a great weekend.
Thanks for stopping by.

ELEGANT ANCESTORS with some grunge too :) and faces tag

I've been interested in Genealogy for many years and love looking at treasured family photos and documents.
For AJJ 'Elegance and Grunge'  theme today I have an elegant and grungy piece using a lovely photo of one of my husbands ancestors.

The print I did was in black and white in the middle some photo paper and then I added colour using Prima water soluble oil pastels and pan pastels and went around some of image with black Stabilo all pencil. Then I stamped around  photo using Kaisercraft ‘Windsor’ and ‘Film edges’ stamps. Next I added a couple of digital additions:  a quote and flowers - the quote font: is called ‘Allura’ and the flowers I made from one of my own photos of  Osteospurnums and a threshold effect applied. And lastly a thin digital blue border was added.

the original before the digital additions

I also have a  tag for Tag Tuesday where the lovely Chrissie is hosting the theme of 'faces' .
For my tag I used some distress oxides on background, a foam stamp by La Blanche, a couple of 3d stickers and a silk flower I re-coloured and added a gem too and at the bottom is a piece of  antique lace.

Heritage tag and Moo face

Hello everyone

Here's something different from me today that I made yesterday while waiting for the delivery of a rustic looking garden bench. So with one eye looking out of the window and the other looking through some crafty bits and pieces ( I must have looked very cross eyed) I came across a few things to use for the Heritage challenge over at 'Tag Tuesday'. And then after making the tag and still waiting for my bench I decided to make a 'moo' for MM&M faces theme .

Initially I think of family history when I hear the word 'Heritage' and think of my ancestors and the places they came from and their trades. So this tag is in memory of my lovely paternal grandfather, who in WW1 was in the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) and was never in very good health after that. My granddad was a lovely, kind man and I do remember him doing drawings with me when I was small.

Next... as I haven't done a real 'Moo' size piece for a while, I thought it was about time to do one. So linking this to MM&M It was quite fun drawing this on this small area.
I used a mix of  Derwent artbars, coloured pencils and Neocolor 1(on hair)

Fortunately Dave had been baking the day before and had made some spice bars so that kept me going until the delivery men had been.

This was Valeries recipe that she kindly shared with us last Summer. (thanks again for that Valerie x )
Dave used Ginger preserve and chocolate chips in this one.

The bench arrived safely but as cold weather is now predicted
over weekend I won't be trying that out yet. It may be a weekend staying in the warm and having some more arty play time - I won't complain about that :)

Thanks for stopping by today..
I hope you have a wonderful weekend

50 shades of red_2 and a Bookworm Tag

Hello

It's Thursday again - suddenly the week is going fast, but not so on Monday and Tuesday when it couldn't have gone much slower as we had workmen in fitting a new gas boiler and flushing radiators.
A fair bit of noise and upheaval indoors but at least that job is now done and now I think that a few days of some arty playing is due :)

but first.. a tag for the Bookworm theme at Tag Tuesday  chosen by the lovely Chrissie from Jumbled Crafts
I've made my tag flat so that I can use it as a bookmark - I have lots of arty books that have bits of scrap paper sticking out from them marking pages - so this will be useful.
I used a stamp set from The Works. Background coloured with Inktense pencils and Promarkers. Drew the worm on paper and cut him out, coloured with promarkers, pencils and Stabilo all pencils.

Lastly another page for  50 shades of red at AJJ hosted this month by the lovely  Linda K of heARTfully inspired

This is a mix of real art and digital.
Font Lexographer and few digital elements from Laitha's Designs 'Crafty Essentials'.

Over the New Year Dave and I played a silly but fun childhood game - not sure of the name - but you draw a head of some kind, fold it over so you can then only see a neck  - swap papers and draw a body to join the head - fold over and swap and then then do feet and legs which when you unfold the papers you get some really weird looking creatures. Well I found a way for me to do a few at a time - draw the heads and then go off and do something else and then come back and carry on etc until completed.

below is my original art work before the digital alterations using a mix of water colour paints, Stabilo all pencils and Aquamarkers.

Thanks for stopping by,
hope you're having a great day.
