New Year Resolutions (of the crafty type)

I use to laugh when I heard that some crafters would buy 2 sets of something so that they could use one and save the other to look at...no more laughing for me though, because then of course I found myself doing the exact same thing too.
But when do you actually use the saved stash.. a year later?..
two years later?..never???
I also was wondering if I stacked up all my paper and card on top of each other exactly how high would it be...inches? no more like feet!
oooooh perhaps this is too much.
So I have decided enough's enough, time to use 'it' without feeling guilty.
I'd also been hoarding some things, well more trying to accumulate varied items to make some collage and jewelry pieces and perhaps do something on boxes etc.

So some new years resolutions will be to use any stash I want, do more real scrapping and crafting as well as digi-scrapping.

Before Christmas I'd treated myself to these nice steampunky bits

and now they will work nicely with my secret stash

The saved bits include some old retro style belts, chain, metal shapes, ornate hair-slides,
dominoes, dice, counters, metal embellishments.

and now that I have decided to use the stash I've been hoarding
I'm now wondering what to make first.

Kaleidoscope Baubles

Using main photo,  I took it into photolab in Craft Artist software and using CSO filter took out some
of the colour. Then using kaleidoscope effect adjusted sliders to get a nice Christmas bauble looking
circle. Cut up one of the baubles to make the top of it and added bows to finish.

Christmas Projects

Well it's almost a month to Christmas and I'm starting to panic over finishing making
all the cards and other things in time. Have about 25 cards still to make and about 60ish
already made - 2 have already been given to visitor's that won't see again by then.

Triangle gift box

Not sure where original idea for this type of box comes from; but this one I designed using
Serif Craft Artist software and this was first attempt to make the triangle box and
check that the graphics fitted in. Used 'Glitter fun' digi kit by Algera Designs.

Green and Blue

My first attempt at making a piece of folded digi-ribbon and a Victorian style lamp...
not brilliant but not too bad.
The car I drew in lots of pieces so I can change the colours and effects more easier
to make some different ones.
Flower is a paper one I made.

Learning Curve

Wow ..learning about blogging is going to be a huge learning curve.
Could have made loads of projects in the time I've spent just trying to workout how to add sections to be able to post different projects to...

So for now this is a work in progress.............

Tuesday 4 September 2012

Ooooh this is a bit daunting....my first blog bit...guess I'll get the hang of understanding where everything is on this blog eventually but bound to mess it up for a while... oh yes and I did..I changed page to a template that I couldn't see any bits and buttons to edit and change back.... boy was I panicking for the next hour - ok maybe exagerated - seemed like an hour before working out how to change page again.
