It’s that time of the week again to say Hello, Welcome and Happy WOYWW to you all.
WOYWW? this means that we would love to know Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday. This lovely blog hopping fun is
kindly hosted by Julia Dunnit at Stamping Ground blog and all info on this can be found on there.
So whats happening on my desk?
Saturday I went to a Docrafts demo at our local Range store. My DH was going
to buy another easel but changed his mind so I spent his money instead...LOL There's the Inktense pencils I got - can't wait to play more them and especially try them out on fabric.
Over at back on right is a piece of artwork I made also using aquatone sticks and inktense pencils too. You can see one of the things I used it for at the end of this post.
So on cupboard top (craft area #2) some of the new crafting goodies; paint brushes, plastic palette knifes/spatulas etc, X-cut Nesting dies and Build a scene 'London', Windsor & Newton sketch book, Graphatint pencils and some baking paper that the lovely DoCrafts lady said was good for helping intricate designs ease out of the dies.
Top right is the piece of artwork that is on my desk and below is something also made using left overs* from canvas project a month or so ago, I took photos of the projects and made them into this digi-scrap page. The main background is 2 photos of the background before I added the Inkadinkado steampunk stamps.. the 2 photos are blended together to give the effect.
The swirls and the elements (on main page and in book) to make the lady are from a digi kit called 'With Love' by Heather, over at *Algera Designs.
Right that's my lot for now - thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. I shall be trying to get to see as many blogs as I can, although may be a bit delayed today as having fibre optic broadband installed and told this takes about 3 hours. Hoping this will speed things up as my current broadband sooooo sloooow.Happy crafting and have a great day.... Gill x

I love your Art the colours are so intense with so much texture and layers. I love how you have made it into the digi scrap page image so clever. I get so much inspiration from you so thank you

What lovely pieces you shared. I love the idea of taking photos of your art and turning them into a digital journal. I am not tech savy enough yet to do that. Your backgrounds are amazing. I have those rubon pastes and LOVE them. They turn plain foil into treasure to me. Didn't have time to photograph my desk last night, but still wanted to see what you were up to. Enjoy the week!
ReplyDeleteAs always there's gorgeousness to behold on your blog. TFS. Happy Wednesday. :o)

So you use baking paper together with the card you want to cut as an additional layer? That sounds very clever!
ReplyDeleteLove the rub ons on your desk and all the spread out crafting goodies!
Thank you very much for your lovely visit!
Have a wonderful crafty weekend!

Hi Gill, I really love those new pencils you got, they certainly produce some fabulous colours. Your desk looks so very productive too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do use the wax paper for cutting out intricate dies but I also lay it down to work on when painting, to save my work sheet getting too messy. We did have a wonderful time yesterday getting very painty. Hugs, Anne x (thanks for your visit too)
What an exciting desk to wander round today. I love my Inktense pencils too, they really are so lovely to use, but I had not thought of using them on material as well. I am a real sucker for anything from Derwent, they are just such good quality, and I have used them all my life. I love that image on that card, the colours are beautiful. Thank you for your visit today. I used to make all our own bread years ago, but have started again about 18 months ago, and it is just so much nicer and keeps better than shop bought. My trusty old Kenwood has never been so busy. I have a tried and trusted recipe, but have recently tried Michel Roux's sandwich loaf which is good, an apple and cinnamon loaf (yummy), and now the malt bread from Paul Hollywood (even better the second day). I now buy all our flour from the most local mill possible that uses heritage varieties of wheat. I was not sure if it would make a difference, but it does. Have a good week with your new pencils etc. xx Maggie #32
ReplyDeleteHi Gill, super card there, lovely colours. I tend just to use clear embossing on coloured ink or gold/silver. But glitter - aarrhhh! Happy WOYWW BJ#137 and thanks for visiting me.
ReplyDeleteWow! Love what you've done with digi's! And the first pic is really cool. Love the piece on your desk. Thanks for visiting earlier. Happy WOYWW! Nan #3
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Inktense pencils...sound fab. Great art journaling here too.
ReplyDeleteYou should send a little frame with your cards - they are little works of art. April #138
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for stopping by my place earlier.
Hello Gill, the card on your desk is beautiful. I like the inked background and the silhouette flowers too - lovely colours. I have never used the pencils but I think your husband's money was well spent :) Enjoy the weekend. Elizabeth x #55
