Hope your weekend is going well.
First I have digital piece today for AJJ 'Elegance and Grunge' made using a digikit called 'Equinox' by G&T designs and an image that was in some clip art on an old genealogy disc.
This page reminds me of the old films which I still love, usually just black and white from about the 1930s or 1940s with all the elegant ladies and wonderful clothes and where the story line is pretty innocent.
And over at TIOT ' Little things mean a lot' is a fun challenge and we are asked to make something (any shape) but no larger than 4 inches square and to show what we made with a ruler beside our work.
Mine is a little under 4x3 inches and inspired by Modigliani and some fun exercises I have been doing from Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artists 52 Creative Exercises to Make Drawing Fun a book by Carla Sonheim.
Have a great day
and for mums in the part of the world celebrating 'Mothers day'
I hope you enjoy your special day too.
Thanks for stopping by

Those art pieces seem so different from each other but show strong women for sure. I'm love those old movies too. I wonder if it was the clothing style or just how times were if woman always seemed so elegant. We certainly haven't changed as a sex that much in such a short time frame. 😀 Happy Mother's Day since I know you are at least a good mom feeding all those birds. And happy rest of your weekend. Hugs erika
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page, and love your mini Modigliani, just gorgeous. Those old films were always great! Have a nice Sunday, hugs, Valerie

Its a beautiful page Gill. They don't make films with romantic happy endings any more. This transported me back to the old films as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us all at TioT's its a fantastic small piece of art.

I was SO impressed by the different the styles of art you shared with us today. I loved the elegance of the Donne quote and how beautiful it was. Then there was the Modigliani that was so different and bold. Loved them both and enjoyed those two very different styles.
ReplyDeleteWow now that's what I call variety Gill! Loving both of these creations :)

Your have created such an elegant and romantic page, it reminds me of old movies too - perfect! It looks like you had loads of fun creating the TioT piece with those wonderful bright and cheery colours. The past week has been so busy week and I've not had as much time for catching up with all my blog friends. Wasn't the sunshine glorious though, it's raining now which I'm sure our garden appreciates ... lol 😉. Hope you are having a great week! J 😀
