Spring and other things

My last piece for AJJ 'Spring' theme   this month  hosted by Rosie
Once again I used a mix of various types of crayons (wax crayons, oil pastels, Neocolours) and a white Posca pen.

The bulbs - especially the Daffodils and Crocuses are flowering more and  it is starting to feel more Springlike - even though snow may be possible in some some parts of UK over Easter apparently.

And it was nice seeing a large Bee enjoying the flowers too

I've been busy making a few Easter cards and other Greeting cards
..here is a few of them.

As usual I have several things on the go at once - and I've not forgotten about the fauxleather for the traveller's notebook which hopefully I will show soon when its finished...

I recycled some cheese cracker boxes and started to make into Junk journal type of thing to try out some different glues - including Berol Marvin medium which I've never used as it had got tucked over the back of a cupboard and forgotten.

Then trying out glues to make 'book cloth' for a cover of a mini book

And I found some MDF blanks and some ornate foam(?) embellishments that I've had for several years which need to be used - so I painted the heart shaped box first with gesso then painted that and the heart shaped daisy wreath with Paperartsy chalk paints.

and this is the next batch of the MDF/chipboard pieces to work on

All for now.
Thanks for stopping by
Happy Friday, Have a great weekend
and  a Happy Easter to all that celebrate.

I've been pottering in the garden the last few days in the sunshine and admiring the daffodils too. Your page is so beautiful and I love the detail you added with the white Posca pen 😁. Your cards are amazing too, those Easter bunnies look so cute ...lol! Such lovely book binding and a great way to try out your glues, and I love your MDF heart with the pretty flower wreath - wonderful 😁. 6. I can't believe how busy you are, Gill. You put me to shame. I was impressed with your journal page, and also the "doodles." My friend who visited was telling me Posca pens were the best for any lettering. I think yours looks fantastic. I'm so grateful you shared this page with us at Art Journal Journey.

Of course, I was also impressed with your cards (another reason I don't make them) and your recycled and book binding experiments. I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

  10. Gosh Gill, you have been a busy Bee.
Your daffodil and butterfly are both definitely up for Spring, the butterfly especially looks a bit frisky. I'm impressed with how you've used the White Posca pen, I never seem to get it white enough, must try harder (or get a new pen). I like the word "Spring" very Spring-like and love your Easter cards, my favourite is the first with the bunny and all the chicklets, so sweet.
Cheesecracker boxes and MDF 3D things - a dark art to me, and I am really going to enjoy watching you turn them into art/journal objects (but only if you want to).
