Count your blessings

Phew! at last last we have had a few days of cooler weather here for me to get some better sleep, re-boot my brain and suffering hot PC and finish making some art started at beginning of month ...
oh and had some much needed rain.
Housework? (oh no!) that's on my list to do next before it gets hot again :)

Linking my artwork to the 'Count my blessings' theme hosted this month by  Bleubeard and Elizabeth  over at AJJ

I quickly drew around my hand not worrying too much if it was wobbly or accurate. Used Derwent Aquatone sticks plus Stabilo all pencil and white Posca pens. Words added digitally.

If you've had/having it hot and humid too - I sympathise
and hope you're doing OK and managing to keep cool :)
Wishing you a Happy, Safe & Cool, Creative week...
Thanks for stopping by..
Gill x

  1. I love your colourful page Gill, and great sketch of your hand!
Isn't it good to have some cooler weather at last, and not to have to water the garden every night too?!
    Happy Monday,
    Alison xx

  2. This is a fabulous first entry this month, Gill. The incredibly colorful background really sets the hand off nicely. Those watercolors and pens you used made the hand all the more special. I like how you added the words. I'm not good with hybrid or digital art, so that in itself is a blessing. Of course, the sentiment was so touching. You couldn't have found a better one. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey, Gill, and I hope the cooler weather lasts for you. If I didn't have AC, I have NO idea what I would do.

We have now the heat - but I stay mostly indoors and have it very bearable inside our house! I hope the heat comes not back to you in such an unbearable way again!
So glad to see you linking to the August theme my friend!
I already missed your art but knew that you are suffering the big heat so much!

    Much love

  8. Love the numbers on the fingernails & those sweet rings, Gill. Great theme - perfect saying.

Like you, we have had a little relief from the high temps. Unfortunately, no rain. Today it is 87F (30.5C). Tomorrow 98F (36.6). Yuck.

  13. Aaaww, that's so sweet. Wouldn't that be a lovely card to give to Someone Special.
I like the colourful background and the rings and bracelet. It's an original idea painted.
Housework??? No, it's still far to warm for that, maybe later, much later.
It was pleasantly cool here for a few days and now it's thrown a googly and become hot again, but we've had quite a lot of rain and the garden is ecstatic.

  14. Your page brought a smile to my face. I want to get some of the materials you mentioned. I've been looking in the store, but I may have more luck online. So happy you had a reprieve from the uncomfortable weather if only for a brief period. All the best to you Gill!

  15. Don't know how I missed this Gill, my feed seems to have a life of it's own at the moment and skipping a beat.. Creative use of your hand along with those magic words, the background is so fab and colourful.
It's been good to have some cooler days, giving me chance to think of the things I really do need to get on with.. The housework is at the bottom of my list hee hee!
Have a super week Hugs Tracey x

  17. What a happy page! Such a fabulous design, it depicts your sentiment beautifully and I love the bright colours you added 😀. It's been cool here for a while, we are still having sunny days but the temperatures are more normal for this time of year and with the sea breezes our beach walks have been lovely ...well it's a bit more windy today so I nearly got blown away ...lol 😉. Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your week! J 😊 x

  18. Your sketch of your hand with the 5 fingers is gorgeous (you are drawing with your left hand?), I love the colours around and especially the lovely flower bracelet and the flower ring!
The heat was terrible - for two days now it is much colder and I enjoy it!
    Liebe Grüße, Rike
