I made this a week ago on one of the sweltering hot days we had here in the UK but not had the chance to post until now :(
I saw a fab page Susi had made recently using some LaBlanche stamps and as I hadn't used mine for a while thought I would take the opportunity of using them on a project.
My mixed media A4 piece started with some left over scraps as well as a LaBlanche stamp of a lady (top right) - but because of the heat/humidity I struggled with getting a good clear image - these are highly detailed stamps and I often struggle with them without the heat making it even harder...
Doodling and marks using Derwent Aquatone sticks and black Posca pens and I used some flourish and fleur de lys LaBlanche stamps and mini alpha stamps for words.
Short and sweet this time as I need to catch up with comments etc plus some much needed housework before the temperatures go back to being hot again this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by

A wonderful page Dear Gill. It is very hot in Germany too. Brains and bodies become lazy and the colors dry to fast. But you struggled against the heat and made a nice artwork.

This is an amazing journal page. I was lucky to be gifted with two LaBlanche stamps and I found them fascinating to use. The material is so different, which I really like. I think you did an excellent job on this latest journal entry. You have created a fabulous entry for Chris's theme at Art Journal Journey. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI've been cleaning and found a few LaBlanche stamps I haven't used in awhile either. Time to bring them out! This page makes me happy. It feels like summer but that blue background doesn't feel really hot either. In fact, it cools me off just to look at that beautiful blue. Hope you have cooled down still. Our heat is coming back here- UGH! Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThis has so much depth in it and the colours and your pretty handdrawn elements make it so beautiful dear Gill! Thank you very much for your lovely page to support Chris' July theme! I should do a bit housework just now as well but now we got the heat and today is the hottest day here - with 33°Celsius - we are not used to such temperatures as we are in a colder area of Austria. But most of our German friends have even much higher temperatures since weeks! And no rain.
ReplyDeleteHappy rest of the week my friend! Let's stay as cool as possible!LOL!
Hugs, Susi
Beautiful, colourful page. Still extremely hot over here. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteA fabulous page Gill, I like the way you created the base layers with colours, papers and stamps.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about clear images using detailed stamps.
We have cooler weather at long last, never thought I would be happy saying that at this time of the year.

I love this page Gill. I like the way you doodled on those lovely background papers! Thank you so much for linking to Art Journal Journey and for all the support this month! Hugs,Chrisx
ReplyDeleteYour journal page sizzles, Gill - fabulous color palette and gorgeous background!! Love the addition of black.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe it is the end of the month. It has been a big blur thanks to that nasty heat. But, hey, the temp here in NW US has gone down to 90F (32C) today. We're having a cold spell!
This is super Gill, glad you found time to post it. I think we all have stamps that we love but may struggle to get that perfect image it's usually the good ones too. Love those black outlines, dribbles and drips, makes for a fab journal spread.
ReplyDeleteHope you got that housework done before the sun shows it's face again, I believe it's hotting up again!!
Creative wishes Tracey x

Beautiful page! The background papers and stamping looks wonderful with your colourful splashes and drips of colour and your pretty flowers - amazing 😁. We have fresher cooler weather after the rain at the weekend and it's lovely and sunny here today - yay! Wishing you a happy and creative week! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteI love this page Gill, it's a great composition!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to get some rain wasn't it?! I'm getting ready for the next heatwave! Hope you manage to stay cool.

This is such a pretty page and it doesn't look hot, in fact the flowers look happy against the cool blue sky. I love the way you make the backgrounds. This looks like a painted patchwork, also with painted stitching.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are getting cooler weather, if not now then soon. Our temperatures have dropped by about 8 - 10 degrees, still a bit too hot. Roll on winter.
