Todays piece is for Alison aka Craftytrog theme 'Geometric shapes' over on AJJ this month.
January appears to be flying by and as I seem to be running short of time at present, my page is a mix of a real and digital artwork.
In my first post of the year I said I was hoping to be more organised - its taking time but I'm getting there. Having completed the main cards, I've been busy finishing off making the special occasion cards for the year and just have another two I am working on for October and then that job should be complete.
I have an A4 folder with plastic wallets for each months birthdays and my cards will go in there ready for this year. Here are just a few of the cards I have been making.
Pretty simple cards really - but somehow they still seem to take a fair amount of time :)
Hope you're having a good start to the year.
Thanks for stopping by and
for any comments which is always appreciated.
Will visit you a.s.a.p

Wonderful journal page, love the colours. Great cards, too. Good to see you around again, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteA pretty page dear Gill - accompanied by a super quote. I am always pleased to see your mix of handmade and digital art! Thank you very much for joining the January theme at Art Journal Journey with this beautiful page! And wow - you are super organised with even a folder for each month! Such pretty cards! The recipients will be super happy!
ReplyDeleteTake all time you need to get organised - it helps the soul!
I am a bit too lazy for much organisation - I like to take things as they come -lol.
Happy weekend my friend!
Big hugs, Susi
Hello again!
ReplyDeleteYour geometric AJJ piece is lovely with pretty colours and I like these friendly, happy flowers. The words are great too and very reassuring.
Your cards! Simple? - not. Imagine making them so far ahead, that is serious organisation and planning. All are terrific, my favourites are the second, fourth and - guess what - the teddies of course, such a sweet couples picture.
Its a fabulous page Gill, I love how you designed it and the super quote.
ReplyDeleteYou are really well organised getting your cards made for this years Birthdays. I'm nearly always a few days before i get mine made.

A wonderful journal page - the mix was clearly successful.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the variety of pretty cards you made - you are super organised! I know if that was me, when I took out the card I'd prepared earlier, I'd decide it wasn't quite what I wanted and make another, but you're obviously more decisive and determined than I am, lol - doesn't take much.

I know the feeling with time Gill it only takes on problem to put a spanner in the works for everything to follow. You've managed to create a super journal spread, love the idea of windowing each piece of artwork each a mini masterpiece in design. Well done on creating those cards too and a great idea to keep them in a folder, if I make in advance for my own use I always seem to mislay them!!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a fabulous weekend, warmest of Hugs Tracey xx
A great selection of cards Gill, which reminds me, it's my Dad's 80th in just over a week!
ReplyDeleteYou created a fab page for my Geometric theme at AJJ, thanks for joining in. Great colours, and I love the quote!
A weeny bit of snow here, thank goodness! I'm scared of slipping when it turns slushy, and I hate it when I can't get out.
Happy Friday, and have a great weekend,
from the squeaky craftroom (piggy feeding time),

It always take me lots of time to finish pages too. I think that is why I have so many going at once. But I have never really digitally done a page. I like how you combined both media (actual and digital) and I love your page. The rectangles are really interesting to look at! Nice cards too Gill. Hope all is weell. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty page! I love how you designed it using both mediums and your colour combination is glorious with the red and soft greens - beautiful 😁. Wow, your cards are stunning, very professional and I'm sure that recipients will love them. I must start mine for the year too but I'm always drawn to creating my next art journal page first ...lol 😉. It's been cold here but we have had sunshine too which made for some nice walks as long as we wrapped up warm; it's also been very frosty but no snow. Stay warm and wishing you a Happy Friday and weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful page is so perfekt for our theme. A wonderful idea to fill a grid with your nice motifs. Your cards look all so very nice too.
ReplyDeleteDear Greetings

ReplyDeleteA great page Gill, and I love the quote - something I need to remember as I always doubt my journal pages in case they're not 'right'
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, it's always good to work ahead.

I apologize for being so late visiting, but I'm playing catch-up right now. I adore your beautiful journal entry. Those are definitely lovely geometric shapes. The background is colorful and happy, and the flowers are so adorable and romantic. I want your secret as to how you got those rectangles so evenly spaced. This is a beauty. So glad you shared it with us at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteYou may think those are simple cards, but I call them elegant. Beautiful and the reason I don't make cards.
