Hello Springtime_Spring has sprung

The lovely Jo from Lets Art Journal  is hosting AJJ this month with the theme of 'hello Springtime'
This will be fun as Spring (and Autumn) is my favourite season both weather wise and nature wise.
Last week I spotted the first butterfly this year - it flew by so fast I didn't see properly but suspect it was probably a comma. The Magpies and Collared Doves have been collecting nesting material. Some Spring bulbs are up and others I think are popping their head up to see if its warm enough yet.
Linking to AJJ a mixed media piece made in one of my A5 journals... acrylic/stencilled background, plus Neocolor 2 crayons, Banana coloured Papersartsy chalk paint, coloured pencils and butterfly and flower stickers.

All from me this time..
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

  2. Good to read about your Spring garden, Gill, and how lucky you are to have collared doves, they are so pretty and delicate.
I just love your Spring painting and the background and your words immediately bring to mind the whole ditty - "Spring is Sprung, the grass is riz.." but we don't have to worry this year about where "the birdies is" as they have been everywhere for weeks. I think there are various versions of this verse.
Your background is terrific too, so Springlike with the yellow tulips and butterflies. Even the bees are out already. Spring has definitely Sprung.

  3. Beautiful page! I love the spring colours and butterflies, the colours and design make me smile 😁. The stencilled background is gorgeous and your eye for detail is amazing - the white dots around the images draws the eye into your springtime scene perfectly 😀. We have rain and sunshine today, it seems the weather can't decide what to do ...lol 😉. Thanks so much for joining us at Art Journal Journey! J 😊 x

  4. This is such a happy page Gill. The yellow is perfect and I love the spring flowers. I can't wait for tulips and butterflies but I must be a little patient as we are having a snow storm. Thanks for sending a little sunshine my way! Hugs-Erika

  5. We have also many Magpies here and I am happy to see some Collared Doves in our garden from time to time as well . We call them Türkentauben ( Turkish Doves) in German.
I love this wonderful vibrant page with all the colourful texture to welcome spring!
So happy you love this theme more than the last one even though it would have fit Rike's theme as well with the wonderful yellow tulips. But now for for spring it is more than perfect!
Thank you very much for joining Jo's theme dear Gill!
    Have a great March!
    Big, big hugs,
    Susi

  11. Gill this is a real ray of sunshine a great celebration of the beauty of Spring. Look at all that use of Yellow, Rikes past theme has really given many courage to use it much more and this works beautifully for Jo's Spring Theme. I have to agree with you about the seasons, Spring helps us out of those Winter blues. I've not seen any Butterflies yet but quite a few Mommy Bee's. I'm hoping they have returned to nest in my unused playhouse or garage again this year.
Hugs for the day & Thank you for your sweet comment, always very much appreciated.
    Hugs Tracey xx

  12. What an absolutely amazing entry, Gill. I love how you combined the words to make them spring together. Your butterflies and spring flowers are perfect. It's white here, and more is on the way. I'm so glad spring is beginning to show itself in your world. Thanks for sharing this warm spring entry with us at Art Journal Journey.
