Flora

Hello....
Another Friday again - and it's lovely, warm and sunny - hope it lasts for the weekend :)

I'm again linking to the  Flora and Fauna theme at AJJ   hosted by the wonderful talented  Jo from Let's Art Journal
I have another water colour, a bit of an abstract, this time painted in the 'Hahnemühle' journal I had for Christmas and only started to use in the last couple of weeks.

This week there was too much time spent on gardening and weeding and a stressful sorting out of my PC that has too many files (an almost 12 hour scan told me there were nearly 1 and 3/4 million items being scanned)  the joy of taking so many photos and creating digital images from my art :)
So for the next few days I'm looking forward to relaxing and playing with some new paints the postman brought yesterday - a set of 18 Turner acrylic-gouache. I didn't realise until recently there is an acrylic version of gouache so that will be interesting to try.

As always...thank you so much for
stopping by and for any comments.
Happy Friday
 - and I hope you have a great weekend.

  1. I really enjoyed this beautiful watercolor, Gill. I love how the colors bleed into each other to create such adorable flowers. They actually remind me of pansies. This is a fabulous entry and I appreciate you linking to Art Journal Journey today.

Gardening and weeding can take a lot of time and a lot out of you. But sorting and scanning files can be really, really frustrating, especially when big decisions have to be made about whether something should stay or go. I'd say you deserve a break. BTW, I've never seen gouache, let alone acrylic gouache.

It sounds like you've been enjoying the sunshine, it's been so lovely of late and far to nice to be indoors ...lol 😉. Have fun with your new acrylics and thanks so much for joining us at Art Journal Journey! Happy weekend! J 😊 x

  6. I just adore these abstract flowers. I think the abstraction makes them more delicate.Liking the idea of them being delicate flowers. And I love the idea of you playing with new paints. I haven't seen acrylic gouache and I wonder how it is. But playing with any new paints is always a lot of fun. Enjoy. Hugs-Erika

  8. A wonderful quote for your beautiful water colour in your Hahnemühle journal - a gorgeous abstract beginning then turned into flowers - I like it!
I was also working in the garden for the last days, but I think a sorting out of PC is much more stressful! And a 12 hour scan is a horror!
Enjoy your new paints - acrylic-gouache sounds very interesting!
    Have a great weekend!

  9. Oh this is really terrific, Gill. Imagine this on the wall, it would cheer one up everytime.
I like the idea of it being an abstract but also abstract flowers, and the quote is marvellous, how true.
How nice to have a set of these gouaches. I've seen art made from them and they seem to give a lovely smooth flat result (in the ones I've seen). I look forward to seeing what you do with them.
Good luck with the sorting of computer files (said feelingly). Digital images and all variations can be so good and difficult (impossible?) to delete just yet.
Have a great week with your gardening and making art.

I can't stay out of the garden either. And computers? A love-hate relationship, for sure.
