'Art is an escape from reality'

The lovely Sheila aka Orange Esmeralda is hosting AJJ this month with the theme of 'A single flower' ... my piece is mixed media   with digital additions and the quote I added I have found is so true - nothing's better at present than to loose yourself in some art or crafty projects and forget the troubles of the world.

and here are a few more pieces from 2020 that I created

all for this time, keep safe &

thanks so much for visiting... Gill x

  1. Hello Gill, You have been artistically busy. I love and admire each of these. The lady at the end has some inspiring words and I wish she could visit art colleges and schools to tell that to the students.
The bunches of echinaceas and white daisies are lovely and just the thing to get me back into the garden and encourage my plants to grow like that.
But of course my heart goes to the first one, the brave blue single flower against the vivid colourful background. I think it must have been great fun and absorbing to create that background.
Thanks very much to you and the blue flower for joining in with my challenge.

  6. You have certainly been busy, Gill. That single flower, with the colors and beauty of the background go absolutely perfectly with Sheila's theme at Art Journal Journey. But you didn't stop there. You created some awesome pieces that were jaw dropping gorgeous. I loved the flowers, but I really loved the lady and the quote you chose to accompany her.
